Half marathon tip for newbies - 3 tips
- Don't burn yourself out in the first 500 metres of a half marathon - start off to fast and it can have a effect your race. If you are new to half marathons take heed of this. Start off slower the first 1km and warm into the race.
- Make sure you eat breakfast in plenty of time, 2-3 hours I have found optimal - you need time for the body to digest the food.
- Don't drink fluid half an hour before the race - drink too much and you could end up in the toilet over the first 5 km
